Our Volunteers
“Becoming involved with BSLN as an adult tutor has been one of the most gainful volunteering experiences I’ve had to date. This opportunity has enhanced my life in ways I had never expected. Having the chance to work with driven adults who are looking to improve skillsets or upgrade credentials has given me a unique perspective on lifelong learning and has furthered my own personal learning and teaching styles. The people I’ve met through BSLN have inspired me greatly. The tenacity and determination they show is a testament to their commitment to continued self-improvement. I couldn’t be more proud of the tireless work the tutor group and coordinators put in and I am extremely proud to be part of the team.”
Kathleen L., Tutor
“Since 2019, I have been tutoring Bedford-Sackville Learning Network students remotely in GED Mathematics. Mathematics is all about problem-solving. My 30+ year career in High Tech and Software has allowed me to exercise problem-solving skills. Tutoring has provided me with a natural extension and continued honing of these skills. Coaching and imparting mathematical acumen and its practical application in daily life has been most rewarding. MATH is just a four letter word for FUN.”
Carl C., Tutor

“Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.”
